Many construction, renovation and development activities in the City of Warsaw require a permit to ensure that construction, remodeling and development projects meet safety standards and follow local building codes. Permits help protect property owners, future occupants and the community by ensuring work is completed safely and properly.
Building Permit Applications
Building permits are available on this site under the "Government" tab, "Forms & Permits" or at the offices of the City of Warsaw and must be submitted to the Community Development Director in person or by emailing: adamh@warsawmo.gov . . . Learn more

Important Building Permit Information
No building, alteration, addition or demolition may begin without an approved permit.
Permits will not be issued for projects that violate the City of Warsaw's Planning & Zoning
Beginning construction without a required permit is a violation of city ordinance and may result in:
*Additional permit fees
*Removal of unapproved construction
*Delays in inspections
⚠️ No inspections will be conducted until all required permits are obtained
⚠️ Separate permits are required for each construction job
Contractor Licenses
All contractors and subcontractors working within the limits of the City of Warsaw must hold a contractor's license
A contractor's license is required to obtain electrical, mechanical and/or plumbing permits, unless:
*The owner of a single-family residence is performing the work themselves

The American Public Works Association (APWA) standard specifications and design criteria of the Kansas City Metropolitan Chapter APWA as adopted and amended by the City of Warsaw are the established standards and procedures for construction of all public improvements including but not limited to streets, sewers, flood control, stormwater management, street lighting, landscaping and irrigation systems.
The following standards shall be referenced for design and construction of all improvements, as applicable.
